Lookin good man! Really likeing your figure session stuff. What medium were you using for that value study?
Ohh and Jamaica, yea, I wasnt sure if i'd be able to go till last min, but I had decided earlier that week that i would go weather they liked it or not.
As I was looking at this I started to realize that complementary color in your stuff would help a lot. Thinking of shadows as colored the opposite hue of the light and using that to your advantage would be a great asset to you. And I would suggest to experiment with reflected light too.

Some great characterization going on here. :)
